There are many trails and hikes that you can take to see the Redwoods up close and personal. The park also has many different types of wildlife that you can see while you are there.     It is just north of San Francisco. This is another popular place for people who live in the bay area to go hiking with their families. They have some very nice trails through the forest with views of many different types of trees including Redwoods as well as Douglas Fir Trees and others.

    The best place to see the giant redwoods is Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park. Located about an hour south of Eureka, California, this park is home to the world's tallest tree: Hyperion. This tree stands 379 feet tall and has a circumference of 36.6 feet. There are many other outstanding trees in this park, including Mendocino Tree (the second tallest), Icarus Tree (the tallest coast redwood) and Daedalus Tree (the largest diameter). The park offers hikes ranging from easy to difficult, making it accessible for all ages and fitness levels. If you're looking for an even more remote experience than Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park, check out Richardson Grove State Park which is located on the north side of US Highway 101 near Crescent City in Del Norte County. This park also has some impressive giant redwoods but only offers hiking trails as there are no paved roads or facilities within its boundaries
